Although we have just arrived, we have to prepare for several multiday cruises on the ARSV Laurence M. Gould this month. The LM Gould will remained docked with us for the entirety of our time at Palmer Station.
If you haven't figured it out already, we're spending austral winter here. Snow, wind, minimal daylight hours will be typical of our stay. It was gusting >50 knot winds at close to -30°C when we arrived!
We will be at the station's maximum capacity for our stay (~44 people). On the plus side, look at my new backyard!
Nothing like putting on a red parka and hiking up a glacier!
